5 reasons why Tom Holland is going to be a great Spider-Man

The thought has probably crossed your mind at least once: why are we getting another Spider-Man reboot? The main reason for this is Spidey’s entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland proved he was great in Captain America: Civil War. But here are the top 5 reasons why he might just be the best Spidey yet.

1. He’s the right age

Let’s be real — Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield couldn’t pull off being a high-schooler. Sure, they could go through the motions, and in the context, nobody questioned it. But they weren’t the same age as Peter Parker, and that made what they were doing even a little more far-fetched. However, Tom just turned 20, and will fit right in in a high school setting.

2. He has acting experience

Tom starred as the title character in the West End theatre production of Billy Elliot when he was younger. In addition to that, he’s recently been in a few movies, including The Impossible alongside Ewan McGregor and In the Heart of the Sea with Chris Hemsworth.

3. He’s an acrobat

If you follow Tom on Instagram, you’ve seen the videos of him flipping all over the place. This is mostly in prep for the upcoming Spider-Man movie, but there’s no denying that he looks almost comfortable. Why? He danced onstage as Billy Elliot, and was also a gymnast. Take that, Maguire.

4. He has a great sense of humor

Tom knows that he’s taking on a big role in the MCU. He already proved to us his ability to make us laugh in Civil War. So, what’s next? Letting loose in Spider-Man: Homecoming and letting us see his full version of Peter Parker and his wisecracks. I honestly can’t wait for more.

5. He’s pretty much already Spider-Man

Tom doesn’t just flip and be funny. He is Spider-Man now, and if Civil War is any indication, he’ll do a great job; but that’s not all. Tom has been visiting children’s hospitals as Spidey in addition to playing him onscreen. He’s been making public appearances and doing interviews, and seems to be well up to the task of continuing his stint as the newest version of Peter Parker.

Tom Holland is Spider-Man, just when the MCU sorely needed him. Here’s to hoping the next few months until Spider-Man Homecoming fly by!
