‘Stranger Things’ Season 2: Details on the renewal and new characters

Nerds, it’s time to jump for joy, because Stranger Things season 2 is now official! Literally us RN:

The Duffer Brothers, the geniuses behind the entire series, told Entertainment Weekly that there will be nine episodes instead of eight for the sophomore season:

“We’re letting the story dictate it … I think if it gets any longer, it gets unwieldy for us. We want to make sure it’s manageable and we want to be able to tell a movie-like story where it’s never treading water. We want it to have the same feel and pacing as season 1. I think if we extend it too much, it will have a very different feel.”

What we can take from this is that the quality will still be #100, and they’re all about making a good story, versus banking on the success and losing the magic that we all fell in love with. The creators also promised new characters, and more insight into Will’s background and the aftermath of The Upside Down.

Stranger Things Fun to Hold You Over Until 2017:

The series will return in 2017 (an official date TBD.) In the meantime, play a demo of the unofficial throwback Stranger Things video game from Infamous Quests, and check out our INSANE theories on the mythology and what’s to come.
