Welcome to the Pure Fandom movie trailer round up! This will be your hub for the latest movie trailers, all in one article that will publish on a weekly basis (hopefully). Happy 4th of July weekend! I don’t know about you, but when I think about independence and freedom I think about 3-day weekends and being able to watch trailers that have Bryan Cranston and James Franco in them. Lets get to it
This is a comedy to get behind. Joshy has a great cast, a solid trailer, and leaves you with the feeling there are more laughs to come. It was also selected at Sundance, which is always good, and seems like it will have a good mix of character throughout the film.
Why Him? – REDBAND (NSFW)[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO6qLC4cL8E&w=400&h=400]
MORE AWESOME COMEDY TRAILERS PLEASE. Why Him? has another great cast, this time headlined by Bryan Cranston and James Franco. The fact they’re both in the movie is good enough — the fact they’ll be fighting each other throughout the movie makes it even better.
The 9th Life of Louis Drax[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB35JnfRjsM&w=400&h=400]
As a Breaking Bad fan, I constantly root for Aaron Paul to do well. That hasn’t worked out so far, but it looks like The 9th Life of Louis Drax could change that. I’m seeing a mystery mixed with some Inception tactics and maybe a little supernatural sprinkled in.
Bleed For This[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ6ny-fROX8&w=400&h=400]
A lot of trailers in The Good this week, which is never bad. In the case of Bleed For This, I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m an admitted sports fan, but this movie seems to be more of a comeback story with boxing as the setting. Miles Teller has proven himself a solid actor, so hopefully he can come with a quality performance as Vinny Pazienza.
Mechanic: Resurrection[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF903RaKLvs&w=400&h=400]
Eh. You know what you’re going to get from Mechanic: Resurrection — action and bikinis and popcorn. Now the action is a guy falling 100 stories through a glass pool, and Jessica Alba is wearing the bikini. So if you’re into that kind of thing you might enjoy your popcorn. Just not for me.
Also the “He executes at a higher level” disclaimer – as he jumps off a cable car – is just, so, very, awful.
So I saw a teaser trailer for Morgan about a month ago. It was suspenseful and intriguing. Unfortunately, the actual trailer took all that away for me, mainly because it actually showed Morgan but still wants me to use the hashtag #WhatIsMorgan. It seems like a take on Lucy, which I didn’t enjoy all that much.
Ghost Team[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXRaPdVrmZI&w=400&h=400]
I try to write a few sentences talking about each trailer, to bring you a little reasoning why each movie falls under each category. For Ghost Team, I could have just written “No. No.” But I have more respect for you than that. This is a trailer for a comedy, and I actually didn’t even smile. And it’s pretty easy to make me laugh. Move on.
