‘Legends of Tomorrow’ recap: 1×16 “Legendary”

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ recap: Season 1, Episode 16,  “Legendary,” Aired May 19, 2016

Hello, Legends! It’s the season finale of Legends of Tomorrow and boy, do we have a lot to talk about! So many awesome things happened on tonight’s episode. Let’s break it down into our top 5 moments!

5. Sara hears the news.

Rip decides the mission is over and drops everyone off in 2016. Sara Lance heads to the Arrow cave. There she is greeted by her father, Quentin Lance. Then, we all cry for an hour. Sara learns of Laurel’s demise and is devastated. As are we, Sara, as are we.

By the end of the episode, Sara realizes she will never be able to save her sister. Sara, instead, decides to honor Laurel’s memory, by being on the team.

4. Ray commits a crime with Mick.

After Rip drops Rory off, he decides to return to a life of crime. He robs a bank and gets an unexpected surprise. Rory gets into his car and finds out, his getaway driver is none- other- than, Ray Palmer!

Ray convinces Mick to come back to the Waverider and save the world. Bromance of the year goes to- Ray Palmer and Mick Rory!

3. Vandal Savage wants to end the world.

We all knew Vandal Savage was crazy. His newest plan involves taking 3 meteors and blowing up the world. Why? Who the hell knows?! The point is, the team has devised a way to stop him. Get this, they finally figured out a way to kill him, that doesn’t involve Carter and Kendra!

Vandal Savage is weakest, when he first activates the meteors. They must kill him at three different points in time, right before the meteors explode.

2. The teams kill Savage.

The team splits up into 3 groups. Each group kills Savage.

Who kills him? Carter holds Savage, as Kendra plunges the dagger through his heart! Mick beats Savage to death and then lights him on fire. Revenge has never tasted so sweet. Thank you Mick, from all of the Captain Cold fans! Finally, as we all figured, Sara Lance kills Savage. How does she do it? She breaks his neck! Sara, we love you!

1. The final meteor erupts.

The team manages to destruct every meteor except for the last one. Rip decides he is going to fly it into the sun. Of course, that would kill him, but he doesn’t care. We do Rip. We care! As Rip goes into the sun he sees his family. He hugs them goodbye and decides he can’t meet them.

Rip launches the meteor into the sun and time jumps back to the team.

Rip determines now that the Time Council is out of commission, it is up to the Legends to keep time in line. He tells them, it is their decision to join him. This is a nice throw back to the beginning of the season. This leads to some surprising goodbyes!

All of the team members agree to join Rip, except for two. Hawkgirl and Hawkman decide to start a new life together and figure out who they are. Although I am sad to see Kendra go, I think this is a perfect way to wrap up their storyline. Kendra will be missed! Yes, I am aware, I didn’t mention Carter.

The Ending.

The team is about to enter the Waverider, when another Waverider crashes from the sky. A man walks out and announces himself.

Meet, Rex Tyler, of the Justice Society of America!
