‘The 100’ review: 3×15 “Perverse Instantiation: Part One ”

Season 3, Episode 15 “Perverse Instantiation: Part One”, Aired May 12, 2016

Wow. That was intense! Let’s review this bad boy!

First let’s talk about that bombshell! Jasper is chipped! CALLED IT! The only thing I didn’t love was his reasoning. He took the chip because he felt bad for liking that rig girl. It felt sort of weak, but that really didn’t matter once things got creepy. Chipped Jasper packed such a punch or a stab (sorry Monty). Chipped Jasper tapping on the glass was so very The Shining and I loved it. My worry is that Raven will have to destroy her machine to save Harper. I don’t want Raven’s work to be in vain. Raven need a chance to kick some ALIE ass. She deserves to be the one who hits the kill switch for all that ALIE put her through.

Having Roan come back into the midst was great but cut way too short. I really wanted to see more of the Ice Nation but if Roan is really dead, I don’t know how that will happen. Roan isn’t the only casualty of the episode. Jaha also got shot. I doubt Jaha died, that guy is like a cat but I am not sure about Roan. I am pretty sure Ontari is a goner though which is a total bummer. Her character had so much potential! ALIE knows what she needs and has no problem killing to get it. ALIE is NOT f*cking around.

I am so happy to see Bellamy and Clarke back on the same side. This show is at it’s best when they are aligned. Their trust and bond sort of became the core of the show and our show didn’t quite feel the same when they weren’t fighting the good fight, side by side. Clarke can focus more on the mission with someone she trusts having her back and Bellamy is just a better man with her. Like how he refused to kill the chipped people. She brings out the good in him.

Greatest moment of the episode? Murphy! After seasons of tension, how cool was it to see Murphy saving Bellamy!? Even after Murphy saved their asses, Bellamy questions him but we all know how happy Bell is to see former buddy turned enemy. They come to an understanding in that elevator scene. Like a very bloody fairy – tale, the knights climb to the top of the tower to battle the dragon (ALIE) who has their ladies. LOVE. IT.

There has been so much growth this season! Old Octavia would have killed Pike at first sight but our girl has matured. I have no doubt that she will kill him, but for now she realizes that he is helpful to the cause and really, they need him right now. (PAUSE!) I just defended Pike staying alive! That’s what this show does! I am now sticking up for crazy Pike!

“Clarke’s always in trouble.” – Murphy, the sensible dude

My gawd. That scene with Clarke and her mom was so hard to watch. How do you even recover from something like that? Can you? Her mother was stabbing her and when she wouldn’t give up the info, Abby hung herself! Clarke’s absolute commitment to the plan was beyond anything we could have expected. Abby knew that Clarke was too strong for conventional torture. Clarke’s true weakness is her love for her mom and her friends. Clarke’s mom knew that Bellamy getting tortured would destroy Clarke. You can see it in her eyes. The idea of her crew getting tortured rocks Clarke, particularly when her mom mentions her partner in all of this, Bellamy. Abby totally ships #Bellarke.

Can we talk about that super cute Bryan and Murphy moment? They just want a house on a lake, some corn and some chickens ya’ll. And from the looks of those longing stares, Bellamy and Octavia want that too. What a hard thought for Octavia. Her Lincoln was her home but Indra reminds her that home is inside of her. Another great moment was Indra saving Kane (we hope) by jumping down when that bomb went off.

“Hold up guys, I gotta save my bestie!” – Indra’s thoughts (probably)

So now with the finale next week, the preview shows Clarke going to the City of Light! GUYS! Do you think we will get one last #Clexa moment?! OMG! I can’t wait!
