‘Teen Wolf’ music: 5×18 “The Maid of Gevaudan”

This isn’t the first time Teen Wolf does a flashback heavy episode (remember The Fox and the Wolf one? Or maybe don’t. That was a low point in an otherwise stellar season 3B) and this usually means little, if any, musical cues. Which is OK, sometimes you neet to let the material speak for itself! But “The Maid of Gevaudan” did include one song, and a pretty special one at that. It worked well with the story and I may or may not have been listening to it on repeat ever since I watched the episode.

Laura Webb, the music supervisor on Teen Wolf, teased the use of the song before and after the episode. It’s actually an eerie cover of Eagle-Eye Cherry‘s “Save Tonight”.

This song plays as Gerard tells the story of how Marie-Jeanne Vallet defeated the original La Bete to a bemused Lydia. Hey, I’d be bemused too if Gerard had come back from the almost-dead and initiated story telling time around a nice glass of wolsbane, ya feel?

In any case, if your Teen Wolf music needs aren’t being met and you want more, you can always check out our music section and listen to ALL the songs! As always, check back in next week for new tunes.

With a double major in engineering and fangirling, Cecile frequently feels like she lives in the wrong time zone and has become increasingly familiar with sleep deprivation. The fact that she hates coffee doesn’t help, either. Her super powers include convincing friends to watch and become obsessed with 'Teen Wolf', one adorable Stiles GIF-set at a time.
