‘Supernatural’: 5 characters we want back in Season 11

Did you hear the awesome news? Bobby (Jim Beaver) and Rufus (Steven Williams) will be returning to Supernatural this season! That’s right folks, grab your trucker hats and your flannel! Bobby is back (for at least one more episode) as a flashback when Dean and Sam investigate one of Rufus and Bobby’s old cases. We are so pumped and it got us thinking about other characters we’d love to see back in action on Supernatural. There is a LONG list of the dearly departed to choose from, but here are the top five characters that we would like to see come back this season.

Jo  Harvelle

There was a brief return of this bad-ass chick, but we want more! Jo (Alona Tal) came back to the show in the seventh season when she appeared as one of the things Dean is most guilty about in “Defending Your Life” and it was heartbreaking. Bringing her back would give him the chance to get some closure on his guilt and it would give us one of the coolest females that the show ever had. Ellen, her mother, was awesome too and if they came as a packaged deal, I wouldn’t complain. I also think that if there was any woman in the world for Dean, it would be Jo.

Kevin Tran

Kevin (Osric Chau) wasn’t on the show long, but his death rocked the fandom. His death can be traced back to Dean’s choice to let Ezekiel/Gadreel take over Sam’s body to heal him. It sets off a series of events that ultimately ends with Kevin’s death. It’s one that we still aren’t over. Okay, we have to move on. I can’t talk about it anymore. (Sobs!)

Charlie Bradbury

Charlie (Felicia Day) was the sister they never had and she loved those boys like brothers. She gave them balance, made them stop and enjoy the little things in life but most importantly, she gave them hope. Hope that it would get better and they really needed that. Her death was on Sam and it nearly broke Dean. She was also such a bright spot on the show. She went down swinging as the quirky fan-girl who just wanted what was best for Sam and Dean. Basically, she was us.

Marie (Katie Sarife) was the spunky director of “Supernatural, the Musical,” that was put on at the all girl’s school, in “Fan Fiction.” Overall, this episode was amazing, but a lot of the sparkle came from the very matter-of-fact leader of the pack, Marie. It would be nice to see her return in some way, whether that be as a part of a case or even just case adjacent. Now that she is aware of the monsters that go bump in the night, I could see Marie as an avid researcher of the supernatural. She would make a great resource for the guys. A Woman of Letters perhaps?

The Trickster

This will always be on my “wants” list. ALWAYS. If you look at any top ten ranking of episodes of this show, you will see at least one Trickster (Richard Speight Jr.) episode. Maybe two. They were always the episodes that pushed the boundaries in the absolute best way and they were always really funny, which is great and often necessary on a show that gives us so many crushing deaths.
