Who does Rachel McAdams Play in ‘Doctor Strange’?


We know who is in the highly anticipated Marvel flick, Doctor Strange (opening November 4, 2016) but the deets on who is playing who are still trickling in. Details about the characters is scarce, other than what we already know from the comics, but let’s break down what we do know.

Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the title role, Doctor Strange, the surgeon and powerful, dimension jumping sorcerer. Chiwetel Ejofor is playing Karl Mordo, an associate of the Ancient One. Tilda Swinton is playing the Ancient One, Doctor Strange’s mentor. Doctor Strange and the Ancient One are sorcerers and they are tasked with protecting humanity from the scary elements in other dimensions. Mads Mikkelsen is playing a villain but we don’t know his name at this point, that’s still a mystery.The other remaining mystery, since her casting, has been Rachel McAdams and what her role in the movie would be and now we finally have some answers on her character!

“Rachel McAdams plays a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is his sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into he role of a sorcerer,” Kevin Feige told EW. Her character name has yet to be revealed and it’s not clear whether her character and Doctor Strange are romantically involved, but we will find out later this year!

Doctor Strange hits theaters November 4, 2015.
