TeamTSD picks favorite movies, shows, and characters of 2015

It’s here!! The last day of 2015 and what a ride it’s been. We finally returned to a galaxy far, far away. We went back to the future, but for real this time. Fitzsimmons finally kissed! Barry Allen changed our world a few times over. We’ve laughed, shipped, cried, and shipped harder. TeamTSD came together to discuss some of 2015’s milestones and disappointments. Check it out and then hit the comment section below with your own favorite characters, episodes, and disappointments of 2015.

Brad: The Man in the High Castle

Meg: Supernatural

Nicole: This is hard to answer. So many favorites. Arrow rocked in 2015, The Flash kicked off with some serious force, and The Walking Dead is consistently good.

Liz: This is tied for two. Making a Murderer because I binge-watched it and HOLY SHIT! Also, Marvel’s Jessica Jones.

Brittney: Grey’s Anatomy

Cecile: The Affair. This may seem like a weird choice, but it’s such a fantastic, solid, amazingly acted show that will make you think long after you’ve watched the episode.

Lindi: Jessica Jones and Outlander all the way.

Cort: The Leftovers, Fargo, Ray Donovan, and Mr. Robot

Brad: Ant Man … it totally counts.

Meg: iZombie

Nicole: The Big Bang Theory

Liz: Does Supernatural count as a comedy? Kidding, but really … the whole cast is hilarious. I would have to say Parks and Recreation. It has StarLord in it, so …

Brittney: Didn’t have one this year.

Cecile: Inside Amy Schumer. Amy’s a star. Otherwise, Brooklyn Nine Nine is great!

Lindi: The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Master of None. Netflix slayed 2015.

Cort: The Duff, The Mindy Project, Jane the Virgin and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Brad: The Returned

Meg: Wicked City. Ew …

Nicole: The Bastard Executioner. I was hugely disappointed. I tried to watch the pilot three times and could never make it to the end.

Liz: I hate to say it, but The Vampire Diaries. The magic that was this epic show has slowly started to burn away. Not to say I haven’t been enjoying this season (because it’s had those magic moments!). It’s just that I’m finally coming to grips with the fact that it will never be as good as it once was.

Brittney: I would have to say The Vampire Diaries. The three-year flash-forward turned out to be the most frustrating thing I have ever seen.

Cecile: The 100. Great during season one. Then it imploded during season two and I never want to see an episode ever again. Haha!

Lindi: Sadly, The Vampire Diaries. I tried!

Cort: Oh, how I wanted Minority Report and Constantine to make it. Both shows really came together, but not before they lost their audience. Well, except this girl.

Brad: Furiosa (Mad Max), Mark Watney (The Martian), Roberta Warren (Z Nation), Ash (Ash vs The Evil Dead), and Ashildr/Me (Doctor Who)

Meg: Rey (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Stiles Stillinski (Teen Wolf), Leo Fitz (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Cisco Ramon (The Flash), and Dean Winchester (Supernatural)

Nicole: Cisco Ramon (The Flash), Harrison Wells (The Flash), Malcolm Merlyn (Arrow), Crowley (Supernatural), and Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (The Flash)

Liz: Kilgrave! David Tennant slayed (Jessica Jones), Poe mother fucking Dameron (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Rey #FierceBetch! (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), and Carl Grimes (The Walking Dead) because it takes a lot to come from the most hated child in America to a complete zombie-slaying badass. Go, Carl!

Brittney: Kara Danvers (Supergirl), Nyssa Al Ghul (Arrow), Felicity Smoak (Arrow), Bonnie Bennett (The Vampire Diaries), and Nora (The Vampire Diaries)

Cecile: Can they all be from Mad Max: Fury Road?!! Nux (Mad Max: Fury Road), Eggsy Unwin (Kingsman: Secret Service), Jane Villanueva (Jane the Virgin), Rachel Goldberg (UnReal), and Stiles Stillinski (Teen Wolf)

Lindi: Rey (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Stiles Stillinski (Teen Wolf), Wilson Fisk (Daredevil), Jessica Jones (Jessica Jones), and Kilgrave (Jessica Jones)

Cort: Kilgrave (Jessica Jones), Harrison Wells (The Flash), FitzSimmons (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Jane Villanueva (Jane the Virgin), and Bonnie Bennett (The Vampire Diaries)

Brad: “What’s Going On?” (Sense8 S1E4), “A Way Out“ (The Man in the High Castle S1E10), “Upon the March We Fittest Die” (Defiance S3E13)

Meg: “Blood Must Have Blood, Pt 2” (The 100 S2E16), “4,722” (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S3E5), and “Baby” (Supernatural S11E4)

Nicole: “The Climb” (Arrow S3E9 ), “The Fallen” (Arrow S3E20), and “Fan Fiction” (Supernatural S10E5)

Liz: “Hardhome” – Jon Snow, Wildings, and White Walkers! (Game of Thrones S5E8)

Lindi: “Hardhome” (Game of Thrones S5E8), “AKA Smile” (Jessica Jones S1E13), and “The Husbands of River Song” (Doctor Who S10E0)

Cort: “Hardhome” (Game of Thrones S5E8), International Assassin (The Leftovers S2E8), and eps1.7_wh1terose.m4v (Mr. Robot S1E8)

Brad: Mad Max Fury Road, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and The Martian

Meg: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Inside Out, and Avengers: Age of Ultron

Nicole: Insurgent, Creed, and Trainwreck

Liz: Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Brittney: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Pitch Perfect 2

Cecile: Mad Max Fury Road, Spotlight, and Room

Lindi: Star Wars: The Force Awakens and John Wick

Cort: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Wick, and Creed

Brad: Deadpool, Independence Day Resurgence, and Rogue One

Meg: The 100

Nicole: Allegiant

Liz: Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse

Brittney: Legends of Tomorrow

Cecile: The Shannara Chronicles, Teen Wolf, Younger, UnReal, The Affair, X-men: Apocalypse, La La Land, and Suicide Squad.

Lindi: No way can I pick one—Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Deadpool, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and X-men: Apocalypse.

Cort: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Deadpool, and Captain America: Civil War

Cort Robinson

A lover of words and moving pictures, I'm a fangirl from way back. Seriously—I grew up watching Daytime TV from my granny's knee. It was Knots Landing over Dynasty, and BtVS over pretty much everything else. I watch entirely too much television and am quite happy sitting in an empty movie theater on a rainy day. And if we’re talking bromances, there's no bromance quite like the Winchesters. Cort has been writing since she can remember and podcasting for nearly 10 years with @bradzb.
