On this season of The Originals you have gasped, yelled, thrown things at the television, scratched your head, and cried. (A huge emphasis on the crying part, if you have seen the mid-season finale.) If you are confused or haven’t seen all the episodes yet, let me catch you up.
This season the writers have been playing, “Where’s Waldo?” This particular Waldo looks a whole lot like Davina Claire. I mean seriously, where is she?
Remember that one time when Marcel Gerard was trying to recruit vampires and turn them into a family? Neither do we. Instead, Marcel is prancing around with the current enemy of the Michaelsons, the Strix. The Strix are a bunch of baby Elijahs, who think they are better than every one else.
Speaking of Elijah… He still loves Hayley. That’s it. Somewhere Elijah and Davina are sitting on the island of misfit toys.
I would discuss Hayley and Jackson, but quite frankly, I don’t want to. Jackson is busy daydreaming about what plaid shirt he is going to wear tomorrow and Hayley is still trying to convince herself she is not in love with Elijah.
Hold on. I need to take a moment and talk about the most kick-ass characters of the season: Vincent, Freya, and Cami. Vincent is now head regent of the covens. He is tired of the Michaelsons B.S. and wants to cause a little hell. The Strix won’t be having it and threaten him with a Finn necklace.
Freya is busy being perfect and hilarious. However, the writers seemed to have forgotten that she is the most powerful witch in the city! Is it too much to ask for a little consistency?
Cami… I just can’t even… *Sobs*… She better have vampire blood in her!
Finally, the Big Bads are Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and cray cray Aurora. Tristan, Lucien, and Aurora are the first vampire children of Klaus, Rebecca, and Elijah. Tristan and Lucien are basically the worst, and Aurora is the right kind of insanity. We all love to hate her. If you don’t understand what I mean, watch any scenes with the monks in them.
You are probably wondering about the plot? The plot is the same old same old: bad guys, weapon that can hurt the good guys, love, and death. Remember when The Originals were first introduced on The Vampire Diaries and were suppose to be indestructible?
Then, they go their own show and apparently there is an endless supply of people and weapons that can kill them!
I love this show and I like the characters, but if the plot doesn’t move past a snail’s pace I am going to have to throw something!
I just have one last thing to say, “CAMI!”
