‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’: Thoughts on 3×08 “Many Heads, One Tale”

WOW. Just wow. Let’s start with the BEST part!
Fitzsimmons kiss! They kissed! It happened!
They yelled, talked about their feelings, and Fitz finally admitted to being mad about Will. Things are complex and maybe Jemma does love Will but she LOOOOOOVES Fitz. It was an angsty and perfect kiss. Just watch this GIF for the next 8-10 minutes. Seriously, it is the best thing on the internet. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
YES!! Fitz says they are cursed and that’s why it never works out for them but we all know they are meant to be! (sigh)
Project Spotlight. After we saw Ros and Coulson getting smoochy last week, it leaves us thinking that Coulson is going to fall for all of her tricks. FALSE! Coulson directs his crew to shine the light on Rosalind’s operation and infiltrate the ATCU to gather the deets. We get to see Daisy hacking again and Mack acting as a sweet phone operator. Blondie and the Britt (Hunter and Bobbi) pose as the FBI to get into the ATCU’s office. Hunter has some of the best lines in the episode and he is quickly becoming my fav character this year. He makes a hilarious hacker who isn’t very good on a computer. (pluck, pluck, pluck)
Bobbi Morse gets our ‘Badass Award’ this evening!
Coulson and Rosalind. While his team is gathering info on the ATCU, Coulson corners his lady love to grill her about her actual operation. Is she Hydra? It turns out that Rosalind doesn’t really know what is happening at the ATCU! Bobbi finds a fish oil stash and learns that the ATCU isn’t looking for a cure for the Inhumans, they are trying to create them! And Malick/Hydra are behind the whole thing!
So let’s go back to Ward, Malick and Hydra. Ward, is looking for some sort of Hydra vault. He finds it and Malick is already there. What is in the vault you ask? Oh, it’s just a chunk of the monolith. That’s right, Hydra’s super secret mission since forever (pre-Red Skull) is connected to the portal that Jemma was sucked through. And Malick tells Ward about the Inhuman who was sent there (who I am thinking is that creepy “Death” guy they saw in the dust storm). Hydra has spent centuries sending people there but none of them can get back. Why does this matter? Because Malick knows that S.H.I.E.L.D. successfully got someone back through the portal and he wants Ward’s help to find out how.
Speaking of Ward. Theory time! I don’t think Ward is as evil as they make him out to be. I think that Ward is doing all of this to cut a head off but NOT the head of Shield. I think he is working on a Hydra take down. Ward isn’t a hero but I am not convinced he is the villain.
Back to Andrew. The ATCU (who is really connected to Hydra) has him offsite somewhere. Do they plan to send the Inhumans through the portal for something called “Project Distant Star Return”? It’s not clear whether they want Andrew to go through the portal or if they plan to use him in the Inhuman army they are building. But clearly, things aren’t looking good for this couple’s future.
Thoughts to leave you with. Is Will Hydra? He isn’t a scientist, he was part of the security team. What if Will is Hydra or an even crazier thought … what if Will is the Inhuman?!
