‘Teen Wolf’ 5×03 recap: Return of the Kanima

Season 5, Episode 3, “Dreamcatchers”, Aired July 6, 2015

With a TV episode from a favorite show, much like with books or movies or really anything you’re even remotely interested in, you can tell how much you’ve liked it by your desire to immediately watch it again and again and again … or, well, not.

When “Creatures of the Night” and “Parasomnia” aired last week, I knew the second they ended that they were going to become fast-favorites and I couldn’t wait to get my greedy little eyes hands on them, analyzing every second and reveling in all the glorious instant-classic scenes.

“Dreamcatchers”? Not so much. I’m not saying that it was a bad episode. But let’s just agree that on the Teen Wolf spectrum of things, it’s more akin to season 4’s muddled storylines and not-so-great pacing than season 3B’s general stellarness. (What? Werewolfitude can be a word but stellarness can’t? Also I’m not the one with college applications on my mind!)

But enough talking about how early I got up to see this only to end up screeching “Really? REALLY?!” at my screen—let’s get into it!

The fact that she hates coffee doesn’t help, either. Her super powers include convincing friends to watch and become obsessed with 'Teen Wolf', one adorable Stiles GIF-set at a time.
