New Trailer: Syfy’s ‘Krypton’ leaves us thirsty for more of this world

Earlier today, Comicbook.com announced to the world that the first glimpse of Syfy’s Krypton had finally hit the interwebs. The video was originally posted on Vimeo, but has been taken down. While not official, the teaser trailer introduces us to Kal-El’s grandfather and life as it was on Krypton. The prequel takes us into this world nearly two generations before the planet’s eventual destruction, leaving a lot of time for interesting stories to be told about the planet. One of my favorite things about DC’s Man of Steel was having the chance to get an extended look at Superman’s homeworld. I wanted a movie with more of Russell Crowe’s Jor-El or anything more with the rich world and history that never has a chance to shine.

Hopefully, Syfy moves forward and gives us a lot more of what you can see in that teaser trailer. Superman’s grandfather fights to redeem the House of El and save Krypton (spoiler…that part doesn’t quite go so well). You can view the trailer on Comicbook.com’s website here.

DCEU alum, David S. Goyer will be involved in the project, as well as, Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow, Stargate SG-1) who will act as executive producer and showrunner. Syfy has done much to bring quality tv onscreen (Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, and The Magicians). If anyone can make this happen, I have every bit of faith that Syfy will do this thing.

What say you? Excited for the idea of new stories being told about the House of El? Hit the comments and let us know what you thought of the trailer?

Cort Robinson A lover of words and moving pictures, I'm a fangirl from way back. Seriously—I grew up watching Daytime TV from my granny's knee. It was Knots Landing over Dynasty, and BtVS over pretty much everything else. I watch entirely too much television and am quite happy sitting in an empty movie theater on a rainy day. And if we’re talking bromances, there's no bromance quite like the Winchesters. Cort has been writing since she can remember and podcasting for nearly 10 years with @bradzb.
